Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the UAE’s commitment to building strong partnerships with global car manufacturers to enhance the country’s position as a key player in the international automotive industry. He noted the UAE’s strategic development plans, which aim to capitalize on the country’s role as a central hub for trade, investment, and commerce.

The discussions highlighted the development of Dubai’s ‘Car Market,’ set to become the largest and most advanced automotive hub globally. Connecting with 77 ports worldwide, this initiative supports the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. Sheikh Mohammed underscored that these advancements in the automotive sector will bolster Dubai’s growth as a major trading city.

Makoto Uchida expressed Nissan’s appreciation for the UAE’s supportive platform, noting how it aids global automotive firms in exploring new markets and securing long-term growth. Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the UAE’s logistical capabilities, offering a base for automotive companies to expand their global reach in an increasingly competitive market.

Earlier this week, Nissan launched its all-new Patrol in the UAE, further showcasing the country’s strategic significance to the company. Nissan was the first Japanese carmaker to establish a regional headquarters in Dubai in 1994, and its operations now span over 22 countries across the Middle East. Nissan continues to be a global leader in zero-emission vehicle technology and operates in over 160 countries. In the fiscal year ending March 2024, the company posted a net revenue of 12.68 trillion yen, with global sales of 3.44 million units.
